Here’s what a typical day looks like
You’ll begin each day with a 7:00 a.m. morning meditation group, followed by a community-cooked breakfast. The kitchen has been known to be a place where the heart is the home. Food and relationships are blessed and nurtured throughout the process of meal planning, preparing the meal and gathering at the table together as a community.
You’ll then attend two 2-hour group sessions devoted to 12-Step and big book-study assignments and 12-step work presentation. Residents prepare lunch together and will split your morning and afternoon sessions.
Each resident takes a turn preparing a meal for dinner. Can’t cook? Don’t worry as the community will assist you. The only ingredient you need to bring is love. After dinner, you will either travel via community van with other residents to a local area 12-Step meeting or participate in another activity similar to those that take place on Cumberland Heights’ main campus.
The day concludes with an accountability group to support the Alcoholics Anonymous philosophy of “when we retire at night we constructively review our day…”
